Fire doors serve ONE critical function

Properly maintained fire doors prevent the spread of smoke and fire and save lives Fire doors are the critical part of a facility's fire safety system Fire doors must be maintained, serviced, updated, repaired in accordance with all relevant fire codes. Mistakes with any of the above can invalidate your fire rating so know your codes, especially NFPA80. How can I tell if an opening is fire-rated?

NFPA80 mandates annual inspection of fire-rated openings

NFPA80 fire code mandates an annual inspection of EVERY fire-rated opening in your facility, corroborated by your local fire marshal. NFPA80 states, “Fire door assemblies shall be inspected and tested not less than annually, and written record of the inspection shall be signed and kept for inspection by the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ).” This applies to all fire doors – even those that remain in the closed position and are not used. Doors must be checked regularly for conditions that may affect the operation of the door

65%+ of fire doors FAIL their annual inspection*

90%+ of failures can be remedied QUICKLY within a standard facility management operating budget*
